Emily Marshall is a real estate agent for Heart State Realty LLC. and a Professional Home Stager and Interior Decorator for Heart & Home Staging and Design. Emily is an alumni from Ohio University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Education. She found her inspiration for design during her time as a Visual Manager for Pottery Barn (Williams Sonoma Inc.). From there, Emily put her design skills and recommendations to work in the homes of her family and close friends. Her passion continued to grow so much that she decided early on after graduating with her bachelors degree to pursue real estate and design instead. After receiving her real estate license and home staging certificate, Emily worked side by side with her amazing broker, Jennifer Snow-Marshall, at Heart State Realty LLC where their next adventure was brought to life– Heart & Home Staging and Design!
“What I love most about staging is the emotions I am able to evoke from clients who step into the transformed space for the first time. After experiencing the realtor side of the housing market, I noticed that sometimes buyer clients have a hard time picturing themselves in a home they’re viewing for the first time. It could be because the house is empty, or they’re having trouble getting past someone else’s belongings in the home. As I try to paint them a verbal picture of the potential the home has, I thought to myself, ‘It would be so much easier if I could just show them!’. Decisions are more commonly made through emotions rather than logic, so if I can bring forth feelings of comfort, happiness, safety, and even nostalgia when I’m staging, that’s how I know I’ve done my job correctly! If there’s one piece of advice I would give a seller and their realtor is to have the home staged before you list it on the market. Your home will sell so much faster after I’m done with it!” -Emily Marshall
